broiled grapefruit supreme

ingredients
all
2 large grapefruit
preferably pink
2 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tbsp unsalted butter
cookware
  • gratin dish
Broiling the grapefruit mellows out the grapefruit and adds a nice crunchy char. The addition of butter makes this a comforting and satisfying dessert!

Cut off all the peel and pith from the grapefruit. Cut between the membranes of each segment and remove the fruit. Arrange the segments in a gratin dish.

Move the oven rack 4 inches below the broiler. Preheat the broiler.

Sprinkle the sugar over the grapefruit and dot with butter. Broil for 8-10 minutes or until the edges of the fruit are lightly browned.
